The lease takes the 400,000-sf office building at 4041 N. Central St. to slightly more than 80% occupancy. And, it puts the health department onto a high-profile roster of names like Mutual of Omaha, Qwest, Go Daddy Software and Citibank.

The Woodland Hills, CA-based Younan Properties Inc. bought the building last year for $21 million from MetLife, picking up a 60%-leased asset and funneling $5 million into renovations. Bill Zurek of Transwestern Commercial Services Inc.'s local office represented Younan Properties. Chuck Nixon of CB Richard Ellis Inc.'s Phoenix office bargained terms for the health department. The 20-story structure has a quoted rent of $15.50 per sf.
