The architect for the $3.1-million project is Elness Swenson Graham of Minneapolis, and the general contractor is Frana and Sons. The project is expected to be ready occupancy in December.
The city of Delano, which spent nearly two years working with CommonBond on the project, established a tax-increment financing structure for it. The city is providing $200,000 in tax increment financing to help pay for CommonBond's infrastructure costs.
The 30-unit property, which is being built next to the Gateway Village apartment building under construction at the intersection of County Line Road and St. Peter Avenue, is "in a great location," says Deb Sakry Lande, a spokeswoman for CommonBond Communities. CommonBond Communities is Minnesota's largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing, and it develops and manages quality affordable housing and provides customized resident services.
