The two-building office complex, which will feature 300,000 sf of class A office space in two structures, will occupy an 18-acre parcel within Westfields Corporate Center. Considered the largest business park in the country at 1,100 acres, Westfield's Corporate Center currently features 5.1 million sf of office and flex space and will ultimately accommodate between 16 million and 18 million sf. Chicago-based Alter Group will partner with CSX Realty Development LLC, the owner of the 18-acre parcel, to develop the Crossroads.

Situated just three miles away from the airport, the Crossroads will be accessible from its location near the crossroads of Route 28 and Route 50. It is the project's prime location that the developer expects to be a draw to businesses seeking space. "The Crossroads at Westfields site is strategically located because it is within walking distance of the government's National Reconnaissance Office, the US Department of Defense agency that designs, builds and operates the nation's reconnaissance satellites," Alter Group president Michael J. Alter notes. "We intend to market the Crossroads at Westfields to blue-chip defense contractors who need class A office space close to this vital national security agency."

Grubb & Ellis has been tapped to handle leasing of the property, the development cost of which is not being disclosed. Neither the Alter Group nor Grubb & Ellis had representatives available to comment further on the project at press time.
