Tyco Healthcare Group has been a tenant at 3901 Rock Creek Blvd. since 1998, when the company was known as Kendall Healthcare. It warehouses, distributes and makes adhesive tape, medical and surgical supplies at the building.
Although it has sold off buildings in the 386-acre industrial park at I-80, Houbolt Road and I-55, IDI has built more than three million sf there. Palatine-based Kajima Construction Services will build Tyco Healthcare Group's new warehouse, which will be designed by Wheaton-based architect Phil Prince.
Although terms of the deals were not disclosed, industrial space in Joliet ranges from $3.25 per sf to $8 per sf. Greg Haddad of Staubach represented Tyco Healthcare Group in negotiations with IDI's Jeff Smith, who also will oversee the build-to-suit. Completion is scheduled for this fall.
