Independence Township Supervisor David H. Wagner says the price tag for the property was $250 million, but Wolff declined to confirm the figure. No hospital beds are planned for the new site, Wolff adds. Wagner says the project could start later this year and be completed in 2007.
Beaumont operates hospitals in Troy and Royal Oak and employs nearly 12,000 in Oakland County. The health system is also building a major outpatient facility in Macomb Township in Macomb County.
