College Begins Work on Classroom Building

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, MI-Oakland Community College is building an $8.6-million, 38,000-sf classroom building at its Highland Lakes Campus for the college's dental hygiene, nursing and medicalassistance programs.

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, MI-Oakland Community College has begun work on an $8.6-million classroom building at its Highland Lakescampus in Waterford Township. The 38,000-sf building will house classrooms and labs for the college’s dental hygiene, nursing and medical assistance programs.

The college says the project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2006. The project will be funded from a 0.8-mill property tax that Oakland County voters approved in 2001. The new building will replace classroom space lost when the former tuberculosis sanitarium and oldest building on campus, Highland Hall, is demolished in 2009.
