IBT currently leases four floors at Copley Place in addition to its Hancock Tower headquarters, but officials at IBT did not return calls by deadline to clarify whether the new lease will be a renewal or additional space. Copley Place currently has over 200,000 sf of direct office space available at its four building, 865,000-sf complex, according to a local office space locator website.

According to published reports, IBT had been shopping around before re-upping at the 60-story, 1.6-million-sf Hancock Tower. Comprehensive rental rates at the tower were not available, but sublease space for the 26th floor is listed at $50 per sf. Direct space at the building is scarce, but over 300,000 sf is immediately available for sublease, with Spaulding & Slye Colliers listed as the broker for the majority of it.

Calls to IBT, Beacon Capital Partners, the owner of the Hancock Tower, CB Richard Ellis/Whittier Partners, leasing agent for both Copley Place and Hancock Tower, and Meredith & Grew, tenant rep for IBT, were not returned by deadline.
