Durant Plastics Plant Sells to Local Buyer

DURANT, OK-An affiliate of Allied Stone, a locally based granite countertop manufacturer, acquires the 20-acre former injection molding plant here at auction for $440,000.

DURANT, OK-The 20-acre former Durant Plastics toy factory here has sold for $440,000 in a sealed bid auction. A representative of Chicago-based Auctioneer Sheldon Good & Co. tells GlobeSt.com the new owner, Leo Properties LLC, is an affiliate of Allied Stone, a locally based granite countertop manufacturer that is expanding.The property borders 21st Street on the east side of US 75/69, about 70 miles north of Dallas. The former injection molding plant closed earlier this year when the current owner, Processed Plastic Co., moved production to another location.The plant is broken into two separate parcels. Parcel 6640A includes a 70,000-sf industrial building and eight acres of land. Parcel 6640 B includes the 12 acres of adjacent development land. The building includes 24,960 sf of manufacturing area, built in 1965 with a 14-foot ceiling, three truck docks and 1,500 sf of office area, and 44,800 sf of warehouse featuring a 15-foot ceiling, six truck docks and two drive-in doors.
