Michigan Plants Win JCI Expansion

HOLLAND, MI-Auto parts supplier Johnson Controls says it will expand work at two Michigan plants rather than move production south.

HOLLAND, MI-In a major victory for the state and metro-area officials, Johnson Controls Inc. says it is expanding its production in west Michigan. The auto parts supplier had been considering moving some or all of its operations out of Holland and Battle Creek to locations in Ohio and Mexico.

Now, JCI says it will make metal seat adjusters and tracks at two plants in Ottawa County rather than out of the state. The move is expected to add 300 jobs to the two plants by year’s end and 525 in all when it reaches full production in later years.
