Midtown Exchange features the Midtown Global Market with an international theme and will feature fresh and prepared foods, groceries and other products from multiple vendors and will be the largest market in the Twin Cities. The project mixes more than 80,000 sf of retail with 400,000 sf of office space, 141 condos and townhomes, 219 apartment units and a 136-room hotel. With more than 1 million sf, it's the largest historic redevelopment in Minnesota.

The panel includes Rick Collins, vice president of development at Ryan Cos. and JoAnna Villone Hicks, real estate development director of the Neighborhood Development Center (NDC). They will discuss the challenges and opportunities of developing retail along Minneapolis' Lake Street.

Also on the discussion lists is the vision for the Midtown Global Market; retail opportunities in Midtown Global Market and other Midtown Exchange retail space; and recent retail developments in the surrounding Lake Street area.

The retail association will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel.
