City Hires Damon Farber To Plan Town Center

BROOLYN CENTER, MN-The city recently hired the consulting firm to complete a study on a 90-acre area bounded by 57th Avenue on the south, Summit Drive on the north, Highway 100 on the east, and Shingle Creek Parkway on the west.

BROOLYN CENTER, MN-Brooklyn Center recently hired Damon Farber Associates to work on creating a town center for the city. The consulting firm will work with the Brooklyn Center City Council, the city’s staff and the Opportunity Site Study Area Task Force, to develop a comprehensive guide plan for the creation of a Town Center. The project study area will focus on an about 90 acres bounded by 57th Avenue on the south, Summit Drive on the north, Highway 100 on the east, and Shingle Creek Parkway on the west.

Ideas for the town center have focused on a major civic park and plaza for cultural activities like a farmers market, art festivals and outdoor concerts. The town center also would contain an office park, a 250-room business-class hotel, a small-scale grocery and other shops to serve the new neighborhood.
