$86M in Awards to Fund Low-Income Housing Development

CROWNSVILLE, MD-The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has just chosen 10 development teams to receive a total of $86 million in Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Rental Housing Funds for the development and rehabilitation of 790 affordable housing units. The funds are being allocated to projects in five counties and the City of Baltimore.

“In addition to providing much needed affordable housing, these projects will have a significant economic impact,” Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. says. “Overall, the projects are estimated to generate a total of $2.1 million in selected state revenues over the next five years.”
