The hotel will serve as the focal point of the $200-million Park Place development, which will also feature two class A office buildings with a total of approximately 250,000 sf of office space, as well as ground-level retail space, a 208-unit luxury residential condominium structure, a performing arts center, room for additional retail offerings and parking space to accommodate over 1,000 vehicles.

With a location on a 12-acre parcel on Westgate Circle just minutes from the Naval Academy Football Stadium and the Maryland Statehouse, the Westin Annapolis will be at the hub of the historic state capital, which once served as the Nation's Capital long ago. "Its close proximity to the heavily trafficked Washington-Baltimore corridor is a perfect location for the business traveler conducting meetings in the nation's capital," says Westin Hotels & Resorts senior vice president Sue Brush. "At the same time its scenic nautical environment and its picturesque Colonial-era charm makes the city an ideal destination for vacation-goers."

Westin Annapolis will be distinct for more than its role as the centerpiece of Park Place. The hotel will feature 13,000 sf of meeting space; making it the hotel destination with the largest amount of meeting space in the city, beating out current title holder Sheraton Barcelo Annapolis. JBJ/Carlyle Park Place LP is on board as the hotel developer and expects to complete the facility, which is part of the first phase of Park Place, in December 2006. Davidson Hotel Co. will manage the property.
