The Falcon Group of Houston is the developer of twin 27-story towers at 601 E. Beach Dr. The units range from 1,044 sf to a pair of 2,957-sf penthouses and are priced from $310,000 to $1.5 million.

Richard Anderson, vice president of Falcon Group, tells GlobeSt.com that the buyers to date primarily are Baby Boomers although some units have been sold to younger people. About 25% of the buyers are out-of-state residents, with several coming from Virginia, California and Pennsylvania. For previous story, click here.

Anderson says condo demand was so strong that the original 252-unit plan was modified to add five floors onto a 22-story tower design, turning the development into a set of a twins. The Trade Winds and Beach Club towers have panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico. The Galveston Bay project includes a Larry North Fitness Center, several pools and a tennis and sports court.

Palisades Palms is the first beachfront project to be developed on Galveston's East Beach in more than 20 years. To get the project moving, the city set up a $4-million, tax-increment relief zone so the developer could complete the project's infrastructure.

Houston-based Kirksey Partners is the architect of record for Palisade Palms. Kirkor Architects & Planners and Mike Niven Interior Design Inc., both from Toronto, also had roles in the project. Birmingham, AL-based Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor.
