An spokeswoman for the Oak Brook, IL-based Ace saidall of the stores would remain open.Damman closed three stores in 2004 as part of aseven-month Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring. The chain's remaining six stores are in Union Lake,Farmington, Livonia, Macomb Township, Southfield andDetroit.

Ace has 4,800 stores worldwide and plans to open anadditional 1,100 locations by 2009. The six formerDamman stores will all be renovated in the nearfuture, the Ace spokeswoman said.After Damman emerged from bankruptcy in July 2004,Damman and Ace developed a co-branded store, DammanAce Hardware in Livonia. Under a supplier agreement,Ace provided $8 million in financing to allow Dammanto operate during its bankruptcy.
