With a main address of 2400 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE, the vacated St. Elizabeths property is located in the city's Anacostia area. It overlooks the Anacostia and Potomac rivers.

JLL's recommendations will have to take into consideration that the sprawling parcel is home to two National Historic Landmarks--the hospital's 150-year-old Center Building and a Civil War cemetery. "We will look at every possible alternative to ensure that the development scenarios and master plan respect St. Elizabeths' past and prepares the site for a bright future," says Herman Bulls, president of public institutions at JLL.
