Weisbrod Will Leave Downtown Alliance

NEW YORK CITY-Carl Weisbrod, who has served as president of the Downtown Alliance for the since its inception 10 years ago, will leave the organization in July and become executive vice president of the real estate division of Trinity Church-St. Paul’s Chapel. In that role, he will manage more than six million sf of Trinity’s Lower Manhattan holdings.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Lower Manhattan community for the past decade,” says Weisbrod. “I look forward to working with Trinity to continue the revitalization of Lower Manhattan.” The Downtown Alliance’s executive committee is meeting shortly to discuss possible replacement candidates. After his departure, Weisbrod will be asked to serve on the alliance’s board of directors.At Trinity, Weisbrod will be a member of the parish’s executive team, the advisory body to the rector that recommends and sets mission priorities, operating objectives, and policies for the 308-year old Episcopal parish and its numerous programs and outreach services. Prior to being selected to the lead the Downtown Alliance—the largest BID in the country–Weisbrod served as founding president of the New York City Economic Development Corp. And he spent 15 years working on the redevelopment of Times Square, serving as the director of the Mayor’s Office of Midtown Enforcement, executive director of the City Planning Commission and the president of the New York State 42nd Street Development Project.
