$30M Hotel and Conference Center Advances Downtown Renewal

SUFFOLK, VA-The doors of the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk and Suffolk Conference Center have opened along the Nasemond River in the Virginia Beach area. The $30-million public/private undertaking, spearheaded by Noble Investment Group, is the focal point and first component of a three-segment development project that is part of a greater Downtown revitalization plan conceived in 1998 and scheduled for completion in 2018. Stormont Noble Development, a division of Atlanta-based Noble, served as the developer, with Noble is taking on the role of owner and operator.

Bounded by a six-acre park and the Constance Wharf Marina, the new hotel brings to Downtown 150 guestrooms, as well as the 14,000 sf of meeting space provided by the conference center. The property also features a fitness center, business center, swimming pool and spa, and a restaurant and bar. “This hotel is the cornerstone in our city’s renaissance,” Mayor Bobby Ralph notes. “Already, we are beginning to see the benefits as the city is responding quite favorably to how it is positively impacting our Downtown area.”
