SUGAR LAND, TX-Storehouse has signed a 10-year lease for 9,000 sf in Sugar Land Town Square. Scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year, the store will be the furniture retailer's sixth location in the Houston metropolitan area.
"We knew we wanted to fill out the Houston area and go to Sugar Land at some point, but then we saw the town center and knew we wanted to be part of it," says Lilly Golden, a vice president with Houston-based Moody Rambin Interests. Golden, Leonard Wolf and Jim Blue of Madison Marquette were the tenant's reps for the transaction. Sugar Land Town Square's owners were represented by Steve Ewbank, executive vice president of Planned Community Developers.
Golden tells GlobeSt.com that Storehouse was attracted to the tenant mix in the project at 15958 City Walk. "We liked the synergies with other lifestyle tenants, especially Z Gallerie and Bombay," she explains.
Storehouse will be one of 26 stores and restaurants in the 32-acre Sugar Land Town Square, located at Texas 6 and US Highway 59. Rent in the project ranges from the high $20s to the mid-$30s. Planned Community Developers is in the midst of building an additional 125,000 sf of retail space, which is scheduled to open later this year.
