Urgent care is to be added at a future date. The opening of the Lake Orion facility comes during a busy building season for Beaumont. Two more medical office buildings are under construction, one each inMacomb Township and Warren.
The Beaumont Hospitals system includes more than 2,400 private-practice physicians, two hospitals with six medical office buildings, a rehabilitation/health center, primary and specialty care clinics, fourextended-care centers, a research institute, home care and a hospice.
The medical building in Lake Orion will house doctors specializing in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, orthopedics, colon/rectal surgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics/gynecology, cardiology, surgery and urology. "Our research has shown that a great number of Lake Orion residents are traveling some distance because they want to see a Beaumont physician, or have to undergo a diagnostic test," says Chris Stesney-Ridenour, assistant hospital director at Beaumont, Troy. "Now we're cutting that commute time by bringing Beaumont to them."
