PORTLAND-Pamplin Communications Corp. is acquiring a 43,000-sf building in Clackamas County for use the headquarters for its newspapers and radio stations. A representative of seller John Niemeyer confirms for GlobeSt.com the transaction is in escrow. The building is a three-story structure at 6605 S.E. Lake Road off Oregon Highway 224 in Clackamas County. The negotiated sale price was not revealed by the parties involved. According to Clackamas County records, Niemeyer acquired the property in December for $3.4 million.According to Pamplin’s Portland Tribune newspaper, it will be the headquarters for the news, sales, circulation and creative service departments of the Tribune, 22 weekly and monthly suburban publications and the radio stations KPAM (860 AM) and KKAD (1550 AM). To be called Pamplin Media Center, the building also will house the company’s contract publishing and commercial printing sales divisions.The Portland Tribune will maintain a downtown office at its present 620 S.W. Fifth Ave. location for some members of the editorial and sales staffs, and satellite offices will be established for several of the west-side community newspapers, including the Beaverton Valley Times, the Sherwood Gazette, the King City Regal Courier and The Times, which serves Tigard and Tualatin, according to the article.
