The newly begun single-story office/service building, designed by Martin Architectural Group, is just one of 10 such facilities that will grace the park. Waters Edge sits at the intersection of Bata Road and Route 40 on the site of the former Bata Shoe Co. factory, and will eventually supplement the waterfront office space with retail space and condominiums that will be developed by Clark Turner.

In addition to the office/service buildings, Water's Edge will also offer four mid-rise office structures, two of which have already reached completion and are fully occupied, accounting for 80,000 sf each. As for the first office/service structure, which will carry the address of 111 Bata Blvd., it is already sparking a certain degree of interest; two companies have made preleasing/pre-sales commitments totaling nearly 4,000 sf. The building is on target for delivery in July. The demand for office space in Harford County is seen in the vacancy rate which is, according to Mackenzie Commercial's Baltimore Metropolitan Area First Quarter 2005 Market Report, just slightly more than 7%.
