Meram Building Co Inc. of Shelby Township has been hired as the general contractor for the project. Construction is expected to begin this summer. The complex will contain a 100,000-sf indoor multi-sports building, a 60,000-sf sports dome, which will retract in the spring/summer and become an outdoor field, as well as seven full-size outdoor soccer fields.

The complex will have a total of up to 14 soccer fields, which will also be used for other sports as well, like flag football, lacrosse, volleyball, dodgeball and inline hockey. Shelby Soccer expects more than 2.5 million players, spectators, and parents to visit the complex each year. The company is currently looking for corporate sponsors for naming rights of the fields and possibly the entire complex. It says there are several corporate sponsors who have expressed interest in marketing within the facility.
