NEW YORK CITY-Steve & Barry's University Sportswear will make debut in the city this fall. The retailer inked a deal for 27,000 sf of space in Manhattan Mall.
With the addition of Steve & Barry's, the recently renovated mall occupancy rate is at 95%, completing the repositioning of the 175,000-sf property that began back in 2002. Ripco Real Estate Corp. has the leasing assignment.
"Steve and Barry's debut in the New York City market is part of our continued expansion across the country," says Barry Prevor, co-chief executive officer of Steve & Barry's University Sportswear, adding that being located in the Manhattan Mall puts the company "right in the heart of the fashion capital."
Steve & Barry's, which was founded in 1985, currently owns and operates 70 stores in 26 states. It anticipates opening more than 50 new locations this year.
