The project, which is being built on the former site of Filly's Bowling Alley, is the first phase of redevelopment in the heart of Chanhassen, a suburb southwest of Minneapolis. The building offers 21,574 sf of retail space and 21,791 sf of class A custom office suites.

Bloomberg Cos., one of the owners of the property and a long-time developer in the local community, is developing Market Street Station along with Kraus-Anderson Realty Co., which is also leasing and managing the project. The project was designed by Bentz Thompson Rietow and built by Kraus-Anderson Construction Co. for the owners, Market Street Station LLC.

Spalon Montage is relocating from its existing space across the street to a 6,600-sf build-to-suit space with mechanical systems upgrades and roomier, more comfortable amenities for clients. "The new space gives us the opportunity to start from scratch on the design, so we can really improve on layout and functionality," says Mitchell Wherley, Spalon Montage's president. Wherley said the building should be ready for occupancy this fall.

The family-owned Americana Community Bank is moving into a total of 7,700 sf, including bank and offices this summer. Other new Market Street Station tenants include MaggieMoo's Ice Cream, CJ's Coffee & Wine Bar, a dry cleaner, a gift shop and a mobile phone shop. Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Realty owns, leases and manages over four million sf of commercial property, including office, industrial and shopping centers.
