Massport Selects Development Team for $47M South Boston Waterfront Project

BOSTON-The revitalization of Boston Harbor receives another boost as the Massachusetts Port Authority selects developers to build warehouse, cold storage, seafood processing and bulk cargo facilities along South Boston's waterfront. The $47-million project will place three buildings totaling 440,400 sf at the Massport Marine Terminal.

BOSTON-The Massachusetts Port Authority has selected a team of local developers to build a $47-million project of warehouses and other facilities on South Boston’s waterfront as part of the city’s plan to revitalize Boston’s Harbor. Among the developers selected for the 26-acre site are Boston Freight Terminals, Cargo Ventures, New England Development and the Fallon Co.

The proposals call for a series of warehouses and other facilities to be built at the Massport Marine Terminal to accommodate the needs of the marine industry. Massport officials say the winning proposals are consistent with plans to keep the harbor as a working port and could add 600 jobs to the local economy.
