ST. LOUIS PARK, MN-Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. said Thursday it is on track to opening four restaurants this year, including a restaurant in Eagan in late summer and a restaurant in the Kansas City suburb of Olathe, KS this fall.

The St. Louis Park-based restaurant chain also said it expects to add six restaurants next year and eight restaurants in 2007. The company says it has also closed on or identified its next 10 locations--in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The strong sales at its restaurant in Maple Grove, MN was one reason the company went ahead with another Twin Cities restaurant, says Steve Wagenheim, Granite City Food & Brewery's president and chief executive officer. Granite City now has eight restaurants.

The restaurant in Eagan will follows the opening of our Wichita restaurant in July. In October, the chain's first restaurant will open in Kansas City--at Zona Rosa, a north Kansas City lifestyle center. That will be followed by the restaurant in Olathe, KS, and a third restaurant is also planned for that market, the company says.
