DETROIT-China-based manufacturer Rosta International Ltd. says it is looking for a facility in Michigan to allow it to expand into North America. Rosta, which manufactures of steel and aluminum wheels for automotive manufacturers and the aftermarket industry, plans to open a sales and engineering facility in Michigan to support its global expansion.
Rosta's parent company, Yuan Feng Industrial Co. Ltd., headquartered in Taiwan, is a leading supplier of wheels for the Asian market, and formed Rosta to spearhead its international expansion. The company is looking at sites in Michigan to be close to its US customers Ford and General Motors. In Asia, Rosta supplies wheels to Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda, Nissan and Suzuki. The company has not yet publicly identified any potential locations.
"Rosta is poised for significant growth," said Jerry Huang, CEO and chairman of Rosta. "We have built additional capacity in China, and are able to now offer our technology beyond our traditional market, Asia, to the global automotive community."
Rosta also said named Ranko "Ron" Cucuz, former chairman and CEO of Hayes Lemmerz International Inc., and Richard Miller a former SPEX executive, to its North American management team.
