130,000-SF Bass Pro Will Anchor $200M Project

PEARLAND, TX-The Springfield, MO-based outdoor retailer inks a pact for more than 15 years for the Promenade Shops at Shadow Creek. The Bass Pro Shops, eyeing a fall 2007 opening, is the first tenant to commit to the 800,000-sf development.

PEARLAND, TX-Bass Pro Shops will open its fifth Texas store in the Promenade Shops at Shadow Creek, an 800,000-sf lifestyle center being developed by a partnership of Memphis-based Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers and Prudential Real Estate Investors.

The Springfield, MO-based outdoor retailer is the first tenant to commit to the $200-million project planned for 127 acres at the intersection of Beltway 8 South and Texas 288. The 130,000-sf store is scheduled to open in fall 2007.

“We think Bass Pro Shops is great,” says Terry McEwen, president of Poag & McEwen. “The store will increase the shopping radius for the center and make it a destination draw.” He expects more than 50% of Bass Pro Shops’ customers will drive at least 50 miles to reach the store.
