Ryan Wilson with the Robert Lynn Co. in Dallas tells GlobeSt.com that he kept knocking on doors in the Design District until one owner, Fabrication Specialty Co., agreed to sell. After 27 years at 955 Slocum St., the seller packed up his business and relocated to Granbury, a historic town with a steadily growing base of lakefront development.

Wilson says the building will be retooled into all showroom space for the dealer of high-end European wares, who now leases space at 1515 Turtle Creek Blvd. The just-bought building, built in 1954 and expanded in 1964, sits on a 36,000-sf tract at the heart of the wholesale district. Jeff Mercer, also with Robert Lynn Co., and Wilson brokered the deal.
