Gerard succeeds Dennis Kateff at the Southfield CB Richard Ellis office. Kateff will return to his former role with the company as a senior client-service leader.
During his 19-year career, Gerard has completed more than 1,000 lease and sale transactions with an aggregate value of $1 billion and was consistently among the top 10% of Grubb & Ellis' brokers. Gerard has been the leasing representative for nearly 5.5 million sf of class A office space in Detroit throughout the course of his career.
As the managing director of the CB Richard Ellis Detroit office, Gerard will be responsible for that office's strategic direction as well as national oversight of the firm's telecom group. Gerard has also been active in various local real estate-related organizations. His affiliations include chairman of membership with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and council director of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree from Michigan State University.
