A panel of judges evaluates applications and winners are announced at the 2005 Awards Luncheon, Friday, Sept. 16, at the Atheneum Hotel in Detroit. This year's awards nonprofit CDCs include the following categories:
* MASCO CDC of the Year Award: Recognizing a CDC that has gone above and beyond the call of duty, making a demonstrable and measurable difference in the community it serves through housing and commercial development.
* Outstanding Leadership Award: Recognizing a (CDC) that has pushed the envelope and successfully moved its community development agenda, providing a role model of leadership for others in the industry.
* Innovations Award: Recognizing a CDC that has used creative solutions to provide quality neighborhood redevelopment.
* Partner Award: Recognizing a partner (either profit or nonprofit) that has supported and contributed to the nonprofit CDCs in Detroit.
* Neighborhood Impact Award: Recognizing a CDC that has made a dramatic impact on the physical appearance of Detroit neighborhoods.
