"It's a pretty tight market in the Watertown/Newton area," Jim Bartholomew, with NAI Hunneman Commercial's Boston office, tells GlobeSt.com. "If you have a good building, space goes right away. It's always been a pretty hot area."
The engineering firm had occupied approximately the same amount of space at 9 Galen St., also in Newton. It also has offices in Manchester, NH and Devens, MA. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
The 31,491-sf office property, which was built in 1983 and renovated in 2001, is owned by Northland Investment Corp., which occupies most of the building. Bartholomew, along with Lowell Peabody, senior vice president of NAI Hunneman Commercial, represented the tenant. Peter Richardson of Spaulding & Slye Colliers handled the transaction for the owner.
