MINNEAPOLIS-Developers expect to have completed in a year a new 30-unit condominium project in northeast Minneapolis called St. Anthony on the Park Condominiums.
After receiving the go ahead on their plans from the Minneapolis Planning Commission, the project will start selling units. Construction will start on Oct. 1 or when about 70% of the units are pre-sold, according to St. Anthony Boulevard LLC, the developer. The entity is a partnership of Jay Nord, Richard Sheehy and Robert Liebig, all of who have ties to the neighborhood.
The project is aimed at a variety of markets, including seniors who want to stay in the neighborhood where they raised their families. The condo development will go up on the site of an old funeral home at the corner of Central Avenue Northeast and St. Anthony Boulevard.
The $8-million project will offer four stories of units ranging in price from less than $200,000 to more than $300,000, with floor plans ranging from 1,000 sf to about 1,500 sf.
Construction for St. Anthony the Park is scheduled to be complete by June 2006. Weis Builders is the general contractor. Harriss Architects, the architectural and design firm headed by John Harriss, completed the design. The agent selling the units is Edina Home Services.
