"Now we are ready to get back to business in Minnesota, to educate our children, to control government spending, to control government growth, and to grow jobs," Gov. Tim Pawlenty said at a news conference over the weekend.
The biggest winner in the deal was primary and secondary students in Minnesota, whose K-12 schools will get an additional $800 million in funding over the next two years. That work is expected to be complete by the end of today, with the bills ready for vote by Wednesday evening.
