The Dallas-based Cadence McShane Corp. has broken ground on a project that's estimated to cost more than $1 million. The 8503 Sheldon Rd. project, designed by Houston-based Munson Kennedy Partnership, will be completed in October. Groendyke Transport will vacate its existing building for the larger structure, which will be used to clean tanker trucks that have transported chemicals. The company operates 11 such sites in Texas.

According to Chuck White, vice president of Cadence McShane's Houston division, the new structure will be tilt-wall construction with a metal roof. It will feature 8,000 sf of office space; 8,000 sf of warehouse area for towels, cleaning supplies and truck repair parts; and 16,500 sf earmarked for a fuel bay and four truck cleaning bays.
