"Ryan is very relationship-oriented," Kolar says. She says that fits her approach to the commercial real estate business as well, since she believes that real estate and property management is "a business about relationships with clients, tenants and vendors." Before joining Ryan, the 15-year Twin-Cities real estate veteran had managed the IDS Center for its owner, the John Buck Co. She has also managed the Piper Jaffray Tower for Kennedy-Wilson Properties.

Although known as a developer with a major portfolio in downtown Minneapolis, Ryan Cos. also has asset, property and facilities management services. In addition to its Minneapolis office, Ryan has offices in Chicago, Phoenix and San Diego. The company also has offices in Cedar Rapids, Davenport and Des Moines, IA.

Separately, Ryan recently announced that it has opened a regional office in San Diego, which will provide development, construction and property management services in Southern California.
