Work Starts on Ramsey Town Center

RAMSEY, MN-The first phase of the retail portion under construction features a 62,000-sf Coburn Superstore. The 322-acre mixed-use project is located on Hwy 10 between Armstrong & Ramsey Boulevard, along the proposed Northstar commuter rail line.

RAMSEY, MN-Construction recently began on the first phase of Ramsey Town Center, a major mixed-use project on 322 acres in this third ring suburb. The project includes a mix of townhomes, lofts & single-family homes, and commercial projects such as a new city hall, hotel, small retail chains, restaurants, cinema, medical, fitness and life learning centers. Ramsey Town Center is located on Highway 10 between Armstrong & Ramsey Boulevard–along the proposed Northstar commuter rail line.

The overall architect is Elness Swenson Graham Architects, who worked with architect Close Landscape Architecture. The American Institute of Architects recently awarded the project an Institute Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design, an award that recognizes projects for a combination of urban design, city planning and community development.

The master plan, which is expected to take about three to five years to build out, consists of a retail area that could be up to 700,000 sf, more than 2,400 units of mid- to high-density housing, and 460,000 sf of office, medical and civic space.
