"This part of Scottsdale was a big hole in our coverage so we took a bigger than usual space," Stephanie Davis, a vice president with Colliers International's Phoenix office, tells GlobeSt.com about the deal for 7919 E. Thomas Rd. "This is the first big-store concept in the Phoenix metro area." The typical size of a Susie's Deals store is 6,000 sf, says Davis, who teams with Paul Holland to represent the retailer in Arizona.
Indian River Plaza is located at the at the southwest corner of Hayden and Thomas roads. Built in 1979, the repositioned 92,341-sf center, now fully leased, is anchored by 99¢ Only and Osco Drug. The center, owned by Arizona Partners of Scottsdale, carries a quoted rate of $10 per sf, triple net.
"We like the co-tenancy with the center," Davis says, adding Susie's Deal is looking for two more locations in the Valley. The chain operates more than a dozen stores in the state.
