Auburn Hills Snatches BorgWarner From Chicago

AUBURN HILLS, MI-Following a two-year relocation from the Windy City, BorgWarner Inc. is opening the doors of its new world headquarters in Auburn Hills.

AUBURN HILLS, MI-BorgWarner has leased 41,000 sf of space in a 60,000-sf building, located at 3850 Hamlin Rd. at the southwest corner of Hamlin and Adams roads. The building was designed by Studio B Architects of Birmingham and is owned by Etkin Equities of Southfield.

The official opening of the building caps a two-year relocation process for the automotive powertrain manufacturer. BorgWarner announced in September 2003 that it would relocate its corporate headquarters from Chicago to Auburn Hills. The new headquarters houses 80 corporate employees including the chairman and CEO’soffice, finance and administration, business development, corporate communications and investor relations, human resources, information technology and legal/patent division.
