"Colliers has been active in the Ann Arbor commercial real estate market for several years, serving such clients as Avis Farms, and was the only brokerage firm to represent Domino's Farms," said Cameron McCausland, director of brokerage services for Colliers International. "During that time we have seen the Washtenaw County area increase its prominence and dynamic in southeast Michigan, so it seemed natural for us to establish a physical presence here."
Michael Giraud, and Jeffrey Harshe, formerly of Swisher Commercial, will join McCausland and Tim Guest in the new office in downtown Ann Arbor. Colliers said in the office will also service the adjoining counties of Livingston, Jackson, Lenawee, and Wayne counties.
"This area has become an integral, though unofficial, part of the Detroit Metropolitan area," McCausland says. "It has evolved from being the home of the University of Michigan to a center for commerce, research and development, and medical technology."
Washtenaw County currently contains 32.9 million sf of office, industrial, and retail space--a 9.7% increase from five years ago, while Livingston County experienced an 18.9% increase in the same period.
