Dow Hotel Names New Head of Operations

SEATTLE-Ernie Catanzaro, who joined the company in 2002, is now responsible for overseeing the operations and profitability of the company's nationwide hotel portfolio. The company also hired a new manager for the Doubletree Hotel Bellevue, which it acquired earlier this month for about $48.5 million.

SEATTLE-Following a spate of expansions and acquisitions, the Dow Hotel Co. LLC has named a new head of operations. Ernie Catanzaro, a 25-year industry veteran who joined the company in 2002, is now responsible for overseeing the operations and profitability of the company’s nationwide hotel portfolio. Catanzaro and his family will be relocating to Seattle shortly.

Catanzaro, most recently general manager of Hilton Atlanta Northeast, also will be responsible for expanding the Dow Hotel Company’s signature Basil’s Restaurant concept and assisting in the transition process following new acquisitions. Prior to joining Dow, Catanzaro was SVP of sales & marketing for French Quarter Hospitality Management and, prior to that, was vice president of sales & marketing for The Melrose Hotel Company.

“We now have reached the size and distribution to build our bench strength with an eye to preparing for our planned future growth in the ownership and management of upscale, full-service hotels,” said Dow Hotel president Murray Dow in a prepared statement. “Ernie brings a proven track record of impacting top line revenues and bringing those revenues to the bottom line, while consistently delivering outstanding guest satisfaction.”
