VIRGINIA BEACH, VA-Ethan Allen Home Interiors has become the latest addition to the 832,500-sf retail segment at the nearly two million-sf the Town Center of Virginia Beach with the opening of its new 25,000-sf store. The two-story facility, developed by store co-owner Bert Crawford and his company Principal Service Inc., is twice the size of the retailer's previous location at Hilltop Shopping Center East.

Located at 4677 Columbus St., Ethan Allen sits adjacent to one of Town Center's larger retailers, the 84,000-sf Dick's Sporting Goods. The retail segment's list of occupants also includes Ann Taylor Loft, the Cheesecake Factory, Funny Bone Comedy Club and Restaurant, Men's Warehouse and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

Development costs for the standalone structure have not been disclosed. Had Ethan Allen opted to lease space instead of build within the 17-block mixed-use development, the company would have had to work with property developer Armada/Hoffler's retail broker Divaris Real Estate, which markets the space for about $25 to $35 per sf.
