WARREN, MI-A developer who revised his plans after Warren officials nixed his initial idea has now received a thumbs-up. Adding condominiums to his proposal apparently was the key in convincing city planners and the Warren City Council to rezone 2.1 acres along the east side of Ryan Road, south of 14 Mile Road, from single-family residential usage to multifamily and local business.

“I believe we have a project that would be a welcome addition to this part of the city,” said Charles Earl, an attorney representing developer Eddie Babbie of Babbie Enterprises of Detroit. In April, members of the Warren Planning Commission rejected Babbie’s request to rezone the property for commercial and parking uses because the panel felt the change would not be conducive to the single-familyhomes to the south.
