CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI-Another upscale restaurant has won approval to operate at the open-air shopping center Partridge Creek Fashion Mall in Macomb County's Clinton Township, but there is still no word on when construction of the center will begin. Bravo Cucina Italiana, an Ohio-based restaurant group, last week received approval for a liquor license from the Clinton Township board of trustees.
Bravo becomes the second national food chain to sign up for Partridge Creek Fashion Mall, a Taubman Centers development on Hall Road, east of Garfield. However, a spokeswoman for the developer says no firm date has been lined up for groundbreaking. "I don't have anything new to share at this time," says spokeswoman Karen MacDonald. According to the company, Partridge Creek is listed to open in 2007.
Irene Sheridan, a community planner with the Clinton Township planning department, says no plans have been submitted for the mall. "We haven't heard anything, not even consistent rumors," she says.
MacDonald says Taubman officials have been busy preparing for the Sept. 15 opening of Northlake Mall, a 1.1-million-sf shopping center in suburban Charlotte, NC. That mall will have more than 90 stores, ranging from Eddie Bauer to Pottery Barn.
When plans for Partridge Creek Fashion Mall were announced last year, officials had indicated building would have started by now. The "lifestyle center" will feature high-end restaurants, entertainment venues and trendy stores. It will have a 12-screen movie theater and five restaurants. The first restaurant announced for the center was P.F. Chang's China Bistro. It is part of a $600-million Partridge Creek development that will also feature several hundred homes, condominiums and residences for senior citizens on the grounds of the former golf course. Construction of the residential portion of the project is under way.
