Jones Lang LaSalle, which manages two office buildings in downtown New Orleans, did not experience much damage to its properties, but the company employs 13 property management professionals in the city. While all survived, a spokesperson said their homes were affected by the floodwaters. As a result, the company is providing financial and benefits assistance to these employees and has set up a fund for employees to contribute. In addition, Jones Lang LaSalle is matching employee donations to recognized charitable organizations.

Studley donated funds to America's Second Harvest--a recent Studley client and one of the primary relief agencies on the ground in the disaster area--that will provide 53,025 meals. The company also donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross.

Equis Corp. announced that they would be holding a charity funds drive for victims of hurricane Katrina. All donations made by employees will be matched by the company--up to $100 per employee--in efforts to double to amount of relief given to victims and their families. Money will be sent to the Red Cross.

Working through the Corporate Philanthropy Program and the CB Richard Ellis Foundation, CBRE has created an opportunity for employees to contribute alongside the company to the hurricane relief efforts. All funds raised will be donated to the American Red Cross 2005 Hurricanes Disaster Relief Efforts fund. "We chose the American Red Cross because their phased relief plan offers both immediate and long-term assistance to the victims," says a company spokesperson.

In support of the disaster relief effort, Grubb & Ellis is making a corporate donation to the American Red Cross. "I know many of us have friends and family in the devastated areas," said president and CEO Mark Rose in a statement. "Our thoughts are particularly with G&E|Peebles & Cameron, our affiliate in Mobile, AL, which has been cut off from communications with us this week. In this dire emergency, we encourage everyone to donate what they can and join the senior team in contributing on a personal as well as corporate level."

Also, the Chicago Chapter of CoreNet is hosting a gala fundraiser on September 22nd downtown to benefit New Orleans. The group is donating $1,000 and will match any donation generated from the event.

Finally, in an effort to assist displaced companies in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, GlobeSt.com has provided a list of local real estate experts on hand to help.
