Government Signs 268,800-SF Lease

COLLEGE PARK, MD-With the signing of a lease for a new 268,800-sf office building, the US General Services Administration has locked in space to house the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Center for Weather and Climate Prediction, or as it is more commonly known, National Weather Service. The office is being developed by Opus East LLC at the University of Maryland’s 130-acre M-Square Office and Industrial Complex.

Relying on the representation of Spaulding & Slye Colliers, the GSA committed to the new building under a lease of unspecified length. According to the GSA’s solicitation for a lease procurement team for the NOAA space, the agreement is not to exceed 13 years. The building will also house the National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Systems.
