Savvis Commissions Completion 127,000-SF Data Center

SANTA CLARA, CA-With more demand than space in the Silicon Valley, St. Louis-based Savvis Inc. has commissioned the completion of a 127,000-sf data center here that should open in the first quarter of 2006. Originally started for Exodus Communications, the facility was approximately 85% complete when construction was halted.

Savvis currently operates 24 data centers encompassing more than 1.3 million sf around the world. Savvis chief executive Rob McCormick says his company is responding to strong demand.

“Our fully built-out data centers in the Silicon Valley are near capacity, and we continue to have new business opportunities,” he says. “This center, which is near completion already, will play an important role in our continued growth in Silicon Valley.”
