Gerald Cohen, COO and managing director, tells GlobeSt.com that in the last two years the firm has increased it professional staff 100%. And more expansion is on the way as Ackman-Ziff aims to add five to 10 more staff members in the coming months. "We looked at other places, but we had the desire to stay here. It's quality space." He attributes the firm's growth to companies seeking out Ackman-Ziff because the firm understands the complex layers and structures of intricate financing arrangements.
No brokers were involved in the transaction—the long-time tenant negotiated directly with the ownership of the 180,500-sf site. Others on the tenant roster include Major League Soccer and Newmark. Cipriani is on the lower level.
According to a company spokesperson, the move also allows for better collaboration among the staff. The firm currently occupies three offices on the 14th floor and will be moving down to the 10th where the staff will have the entire floor to themselves.
