WASHINGTON, DC-The 198,000-sf Watergate Office Building–the storied structure at 2600 Virginia Ave. NW where the break-in that ultimately resulted in President Richard M. Nixon’s resignation took place–has come under contract for $90 million. Los Angeles-based BentleyForbes acquired the sit from Trizec, which had picked it up seven years ago for about $50 million.

The building and the over one-half-acre parcel it occupies along the Potomac River near the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, have a current assessed near the value of $44.1 million. Cassidy & Pinkard reportedly secured the seller for Trizec.
